The Day of the Logs

Yesterday a strange thing happened here - a man came with a big trailer full of logs and tipped them all over our driveway! Us dogs all told him what we thought of that but he didn't seem to care and just drove away again. Anyway Leigh seemed happy to have the logs and spent the afternoon putting them into the shed.

And she even brought some into the house. We thought they might have been for us to play with but they have been stacked up on this new black shelf and in a nice wicker basket.

The only problem is we haven't got a fire :-) but Judith and Leigh have been talking about a new wood burning stove so we will have to wait and see what turns up. In the meantime Saoirse has decided to clean her teeth with the kindling :-)

She couldn't believe it when Leigh said they were not for chewing on!

Pip's First Show

My grand daughter Pip is really growing up now. She is nine months old now and last weekend she went to her very first show - the Northern Schnauzer Club Championship Show.

It was very noisy and a bit scary for her first show but she did well and got a rosette. There were seven in her class and she.managed fifth place - Very Highly Commended :-)

But she also came home with a brand new jacket for the winter!

                                                          Here she is posing :-)

Schnauzerfest 2014

This is the badge on my bandana for the Schnauzerfest 2014 which took place at the weekend all over the UK. Lots of walks were organised for peeps and their schnauzers to enjoy a day out and to raise money for the Diana Brimblecombe Animal Rescue charity. You can read all about them here.

Here you can see me surveying the peeps and pooches across the river. Some crazy dogs went in for a swim but there was no way I was going to get my paws wet BOL!

Here are two cute little puppies who had come to see all the schnauzer friends together.

And here is a sample of the goodies on display.

My son Maverick was there with his family and his peeps had helped provide tasty treats.

I needed a good long nap when I got home as it was quite a tiring morning.

This is Crybbe who thought the walk had been organised for him :-)

As well as the bandanas there were plenty of tasty treats for us doggies.

Homemade liver cake, peanut butter cookies and yummy fish skins !!

                                             I just couldn't resist a quick taste :-)

Poor Trilby was shattered - she could hardly keep her eyes open even for treats.

Anyway the fund raising was a great success - we raised £250 on our walk but over the whole UK they raised over £5000!!

Allerthorpe Woods

On Sunday my peeps took me and Raven to Allerthorpe Woods to meet my daughter Gracie and grandson Wilson with their peeps for a walk in the autumn leaves.

Here is Gracie checking out some good smells :-)

                                                       And Wilson on the move.

Raven checking that everyone is keeping up :-)

After lunch we all went to this dog friendly pub in a nearby village - the peeps enjoyed a really tasty meal here.

This is Gracie posing by the pub name stone.

Gracie and Wilson enjoying a drink after the meal :-)

It was a lovely afternoon and we hope we can go back there another time.

Holiday Outings

Well it has been a while since I last posted as my peeps have been pretty low with bad coughs and colds :( They wanted to go to lots of nice places as it was Judith's holiday from work so they did try to get out anyway when the weather was good. Sometimes though they went without us doggies! So many fun places will not let us in but here are some photos from the last couple of weeks.

Not our dinner :-( but a rabbit in the bird garden at Harewood House.

A heron looking for fish in the stream.

Flamingoes snoozing with a heron preening in the background.

One day Trilby and Crybbe went along for a stroll in the grounds at Harewood too :-)

Can you see them peeping through the barrier?

They had a good view from up there :)

Here is Trilby posing by the flowers.

                                                                          And Crybbe.

Judith and Leigh visited the Yorkshire Wildlife Park too where they are trying to conserve some of the endangered animals whose habitat is being destroyed or who are being killed by poachers and hunters.

                                                                       A brown lemur

And an Amur leopard - there are very few of these beautiful animals left in the world :(

                                                                     And a Siberian tiger.

On another day they visited Chatsworth House where we might go for a trip one day. Judith and Leigh looked round the house and gardens and found some lovely dog sculptures there:

Well that is my catch up post and I will try to post more before too long! And before I go just to tell you that Raven went to his very first ever show a week ago - Driffield Championship Show and got second place in the Puppy Dog Class so he has qualified for Crufts. We are very proud of him :-)

He would not pose for the camera looking smart so here he is looking not so spruced up :-)

A Birthday Outing

This Sunday it was Leigh's birthday and me and Raven and Crybbe all got to go out for the day with her and Judith to visit Burton Agnes garden. We have been there before but it is always fun to visit and very dog friendly.

We went to the courtyard cafe for the peeps to enjoy coffee and cake before the woodland walk and saw a sad sight. Some peeps had decided to tie their poor old dog up outside while they sat inside to eat instead of staying together like all the other dog families in the lovely courtyard area.

The poor dog cried and cried. A kind lady spent some time trying to comfort him but his owners just said he always cries when we shut him out at home too! No-one was very happy with his peeps at all.

There are lots of little gardens at Burton Agnes with vegetables, fruit and flowers of all different colours, a sensory garden and giant games gardens too.

Then there is the woodland walk with carved wooden statues and decorations everywhere.

After a good walk round it was time for another rest and another visit to the cafe :-) and then back home for Leigh to enjoy her birthday cake and a cup of tea.

These are some of her presents and the cake - with schnauzers and affenpinschers around it :-)
It was a very good day and we all enjoyed it.
