Christmas 2015

We had a fun Christmas this year with plenty of treats and a lovely walk at Lotherton Hall gardens today. Here are some of the pictures from the past week :-)

                                              The schnauzer tree ornament

Me waiting patiently for a treat BOL - my tail could not keep still though!

                                                   Pip in her Christmas jumper.

Crybbe hoping to get a taste from the cheese board.

We had plenty of tasty treats so it was a good idea to have a brisk walk today.

This is Trilby and Aoife at Lotherton Hall Gardens keeping an eye on the deer.

And me and Trilby checking out the little fish in the pond in the walled garden.

They were quite tiny but there were a lot of them :-)

These little stones mark the graves of the dogs who used to live at the Hall years ago.

Some of the dogs had come from Russia and some from Japan!

We had a good explore of the gardens and a good snooze when we came home!

And if you were wondering why Pip did not come with us - well she is resting at home as she is pregnant and planning on making me a great grandmother in the New Year!!!

Christmas Trip to York

Yesterday although it was very cold and damp here, I went with Judith and Leigh for a little trip out to York to see the ice sculptures and Christmas lights. There were lots of stalls too selling food and gifts for the peeps to buy.

And there was a man making small ice sculptures to put up in the streets as well.

Here are some of the sculptures:

An ice teapot outside Betty's Tea Rooms

Some ice stocks near the York Dungeon ( it is not a real dungeon just a scary place to visit BOL)

This is me by the ice well for the charity Water Aid.

And checking out the ice alien spacecraft

An ice train for the National railway museum.

And a HUGE ice diamond ring outside a jeweller's shop.

Then it was time for my peeps to and me to have a rest in the warm. We settled down for lunch at Filmore & Union which is one of the very few restaurants in Yorkshire that welcomes us dogs.

There was a few other dogs in the restaurant too including this cheeky girl:

It was a good day out but tiring - just time for schnauzer kisses before we go home :-)

Raffles comes to visit

This handsome boy is my grandson Raffles who came to visit us yesterday with his peeps.

He is six months old and is growing up to be a very fine schnauzer indeed.

Here is Raffles whispering in my ear - he thinks there may be treats on the way :-)

Here we are on the sofa hoping that something tasty was on the way  :-)

Raffles' peeps had very kindly brought some yummy homemade treats for us dogs and some Parkin for Judith and Leigh. This is the most exciting box though BOL - you can see the yummy treats inside.

And here they are - wonderful and tasty!

It was lovely to see Raffles again - he is really growing up.

Here he was a few months ago:

                                                                     And now :-)

Meeting Alfie

This is a photo of the lovely Alfie who is an eleven month old affenpinscher and a very happy boy with a tail that hardly ever stops wagging BOL He wanted to meet some other affenpinschers so my peeps took three of our affenpinscher family to Fountains Abbey and they all had a great day together. Here are some photos of the day. Crybbe went along to keep an eye on Frida and Saoirse :-)

This is part of the Abbey ruins. It is very large and a bit spooky in places.

This is Judith taking our little affens across the river with Alfie following fast behind!

Alfie resting in the Boathouse cafe where the peeps had coffee and cake.

Frida and Saoirse at the cafe.

                                                        Crybbe :-)

A photo of all 4 affenpinschers

                                                          Alfie meets a friend

                                                        A nosey Jackdaw

Can you see how blurred Alfie's tail is? That's because it keeps wagging :-)

Yorkshire Sculpture Park

The other day when the rain had cleared and it looked like being sunny Judith and Leigh took me and Aoife on a trip to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park which is excellent to visit with lots of fields for us dogs to walk around and woods to furtle in and some HUGE sculptures!

This is a sculpture by Henry Moore and you can see how big it is :-)

Look at me and Aoife next to these big legs BOL

Here we are on the woods looking at the colourful octopus.

And watching a big screen with a galloping horse.

There was a special display too of poppies from an exhibition that had been at the Tower of London commemorating those who lost their lives during the First World War a century ago. Some of the poppies from that exhibition were displayed over one of the bridges at the park:

As well as the sculptures we saw a beautiful butterfly -

                                                         And some Highland cattle :-)

We did a lot of exploring and came back tired but it was a fun day :-)
