This Saturday was the best I've had for ages. Because of me having the pups and then the weather has been so bad, it seems such a long time since we had a whole day out somewhere and this was a REAL day out to a big event near where we live. The Bramham International Horse Trials were being held for peeps and horses to show off their skills. We went to the cross country event last year and it was so good Judith & Leigh decided to take me and Alfie Crybbe and my 2 pups along for the day. This year as all the other big horse trial events for the Olympics had been cancelled because of the bad weather Bramham Park was their last chance for a practice and there were entries from all over the world.
And there were thousands of peeps watching. We walked round the cross country course (Trilby and Merlin had to ride in the pet stroller because they are too young to walk far) and we stopped every so often for some snacks :-) This was my favourite stall:
There were such yummy smells coming from it! We did get to taste a bit and then we sampled some ice cream for dessert:
Crybbe enjoying some ice cream
Trilby and Merlin got a chance to take in the sights as well.
All the jumps had some kind of sculpture or theme to it. This one was rabbits!
This one celebrated the Leeds Rock Music Festival which is held at Bramham too
This was a jump made like a wooden boot!
And this was a big wooden sun :-)
But it wasn't all horses either. We met hundreds of different dogs out walking the course with their peeps and some were wearing some pretty wild outfits:
Alfie Crybbe never did tell me what the poodle whispered!
A Great Dane like Sampson - with his Husky friend
A big greyhound - you can just see me watching him in the background
And can you see the different dogs watching the jumping in this picture.
There were lots of jumps that ended up in the water too which would not have been my idea of fun! But we did have a good time and it certainly tired out Trilby and Merlin:
By the time we got home we all just wanted to sleep :-)
What an awesome day! I love the jump with the guitars. Great that you got to go along with your peeps too!
ReplyDeleteBoy you guys get to go to some terrific events! It must have been fun watching the horses and the food always looks good. I bet that Hog Roast stall smelled amazing! :)

Is this Merlin and Trilby's first outing? They look pretty tired at the bottom picture. I bet they had so much fun... oh the glorious ice cream. We love ice cream too... In fact, I might consider getting an overloaded Double Dutch.

Hi Magic!
ReplyDeleteMy name is Hannah and I'm contacting you from Pedigree regarding the Joint Care+ Trial programme we're currently running. I'm not sure if your mum and dad saw the e-mail I sent to you last week, but I just thought I'd catch up with you and see if you were interested in getting involved in our free 6 week trial! It's completely free and there's no hidden catches, we're just keen to see what dogs such as yourself think of the product.
Joint Care+ can be very beneficial for aging dogs and we'd love you to take part in the trial as so many other have done over the past couple of months. If you could let me know if you're interested (hannah [at] uk [dot] pedigree [dot] com) then I can send you across some more details.
In the meantime, take a look at the Pedigree Joint Care+ Play Again video to see what you can expect at the awesome events we’re holding for dogs, and the Pedigree Facebook page for all the updates on current triallists.
If you have any questions and you'd like to be involved then please feel free to get in touch. Hope to hear from you shortly! Big woofs!
Kind Regards,
Hannah
