Growing Pups...and A Competition!
Hallo again - I have finally got the chance to escape from my puppies for a moment to be able to get to the computer and blog again. As you can see I'm looking a bit raggedy - my coat and tail are terrible but I have had a shower and a bit of a clean up so I'm feeling better than I was last week! Thursday a week ago 4 little ones were born and you should see them now! While I got a lot thinner - they have got much bigger:
Caoimhe says she thinks they are little rotties and they are certainly big now - and noisy - they fight each other to get some milk! Oh it can be quite painful for me - I don't think they are bothered if I'm hurting :-( But the one good thing about this mothering at the moment is I am getting lots of extra treats - I have special tasty biscuits, chicken stock drinks, extra meals... and lots of cuddles when I manage to get away from the babies for a while. They haven't opened their eyes yet and I don't think they can hear either but that should all happen next week. I will let you know how they grow and Leigh will take more pictures of them too.
But the other thing I remembered was the competition for all my bloggy friends to win some doggy surprises from Crufts. This competition is for anyone wherever you live in the world and we are going to make it a caption competition as you are all very good at writing fun comments on your own blogs. This is a photo of Maisie - she was Leigh and Judith's very first mini schnauzer and went everywhere with them on holiday. This photo was taken in Wales at a holiday cottage and for the competition just put your own caption to the picture. You can email your captions to Leigh at: crybbe14@gmail.com The closing date is a week tomorrow so it will be Friday 30 March 2012 and the winning entry will be put on the blog on Monday 2 April. Have fun!

Oh Magic! I think you look pretty good for just giving birth to four babies a week ago! Your babies are adorable! I'm so glad you can sneak in some cuddle time for yourself now and your getting extra yummies. :) I've sent in my caption!
ReplyDeleteHi Magic - it's very exhausting looking after the little ones.... at least you are getting treats! I'm sure you are a great mum to them. I will have to put on my thinking cap to think of something to caption that picture!

I had nothing to do with it... I've been in California the whole time!! But they sure do look like me!!

Wow! Those babies eat like little piggies.
ReplyDeletePoor, Magic. Are you okay? Yes, you've grown thin but you look pretty contented, as well. We're really proud of you. And your babies look... Hey, does that mean you were also black when you were born?

A number of schnauzer puppies are born with a very dark or black coat which eventually givesw way to the pepper & salt colour when their adult coat comes through. Magic had a very dark coat when we brought her home at 8 weeks but with her litter we are not sure yet whether she might have a couple of black & silver babies (her mate's brother was black & silver) as there are genes in the sire's line for that colouring. We'll have to wait and see how they develop.
DeleteWOW - the puppies sure are growing quickly!!! So adorable :)
ReplyDeleteStewey
its so funny to think rocket was all black when he was born! i dont think i can think of a caption for the last pic, but i really do love the exchange of looks!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're feeling better, Magic and your little rotties are looking very well! Oh, what a challenge, can't resist, must think of a caption!
ReplyDeleteI saw the comment about the colors. My mother was an all white mini schnauzer and my father was salt & pepper. She had 8 all black pups & we all stayed all black. We looked quite funny all feeding from our snow white mum.
ReplyDeleteI'm very proud of you Magic!
