Dogs in the City (Part 2)

First I just want to say a big THANK YOU  to Haopee who designed the wonderful new header for my blog - thank you Haopee you're a star - my peeps would never have been able to do that :-)

And now more pictures from our trip to the city of Leeds. I mentioned about the Nelson Mandela Garden well here are some photos - it is a small green space hidden in the middle of the streets:

There are small fountains and flowers and seats for peeps to sit and enjoy the view.

It is surrounded by flower beds like this one and there is a dedication plaque from the time Nelson Mandela visited Leeds in April 2001 and became an Honorary Freeman of the City:

and a huge sculpture of outstretched arms!

Pretty scary that one!

Here we are waiting patiently in the gardens before setting off again to explore.

Lots of the old buildings have stone carvings and decorations.

Can you see the lion outside the old Town Hall?

It has beautiful tall doors as well.

There are notices all round the city telling peeps about the history of Leeds.

and blue plaques on historic buildings:

We found lots of different sculptures too. This one outside the Art Gallery:

and these peeps watching a man playing boules

and birds outside a modern office building:

But after all that walking and a look at the time..

..we were ready to set off for home:

I hope you enjoyed our tour of Leeds - we certainly had a good time there :-)

  1. It's very interesting to learn about Leeds. I didn't know that Nelson Mandela had visited Leeds and that is a nice garden in his honour.
I forgot to say in part 1 that it was nice to see
Caoimhe out with you, hope she is doing well.
Nice new look for your blog, well done Haopee!

  3. Thanks, Eileen and BM. You're welcome Magic. By the way. Can I add just one more thing so that Caoimhe's name is seen and the entire header is presented in the center.

From Blogger.Com, click on your blog.
    Go to Template
    Click on Customize
    Click on Adjust Widths
And Adjust the length of the "Entire Blog" to something equal to 1024 or even bigger (like 1025 px)

I hope this helps. If not, perhaps I could send it to you again at a smaller size.

    Huggies and Cheese,

    Haopee
