Autumn Storms

Last night was very stormy and the rain has left the fields behind our garden full of puddles. We are lucky that we have the fields though to soak up some of the water - in some places in the UK the streets and houses have been flooded.

On my walk this morning we had to watch where we were walking for all the mud and water - I don't like to get my paws wet :-)

There were plenty of good smells though:

And when I got home we all went out to see what was happening in the garden. All the leaves are nearly gone from the trees now. The hens have leaves from the cherry tree in their run:

And we can see the birds in the silver birch like this wood pigeon catching some sunshine:

The only trouble with the leaves falling off the bushes is we can see peeps and dogs passing in the back lane and we just can't help but bark at them - it looks as though they're in our garden to us. Even with the gate we can look through and see them:

and Crybbe putting back his head and letting them know this is OUR garden!

Then it's back indoors to check if there's anything tasty to eat :-)

  1. Boy you guys have gotten lots of rain. It's raining here this morning and supposed to turn to snow this afternoon. Yay! (I love the snow)Now that the leaves on the trees aren't guarding your back lane anymore, I guess it's up to you guys to do it. You're all doing a good job too! Trilby has gotten so big. She's as tall as you Magic! I hope you found something yummy after all that work. Have a great weekend!:)

  5. Does look a bit soggy. It's very dry here, we're heading to the river this morning so we'll get more than just our feet wet! You stretch well to see over that gate. And give those dogs a bark from us, too.

  8. those pictures of you all at the back gate are very sweet, you look like you're all doing a great job :) We've had some horrible weather down here this week too, but thankfully no flooding nearby although the river is high. and today it's blowing a gale and raining, just about the worst kind of schnauzery weather, hope its better tomorrow as we're off to London for the day. xx
