Family Reunion

                            

Guess who has come to stay with us? Yes - it's my daughter Gracie and grandson Wilson :-) Here they are in the garden with Trilby in the middle. Their peeps are on holiday abroad and so Gracie and Wilson have come back for a holiday here :-)

                             

And this is Wilson after his groom - the cute little teddy bear look was too hot for this scorching summer - now he looks so grown up :-)

                                

And here is my sweet daughter Gracie after her cool clip. She has borrowed my rainbow collar while she is here with a tag for my peeps contact details.

Not that I was going to get my paws wet. Only Trilby was tempted by some kibble in the water to get in :-) And Crybbe.....!

                                     

Well we are a lovely big family just now although little Pip was not too sure what had happened when they first came in and just sat and watched them - she is having bitey face games with Wilson now though :-)

                                    

        Not sure that Saoirse is too happy that the affenpinschers are outnumbered now BOL

                                    

                                      

Schnauzer Fun Day

                     

Well it probably doesn't look much like fun in this photo BOL but we went to the Northern Schnauzer Club Fun Day on Sunday as Judith & Leigh were running the Club shop there but as the weather looked like rain the stalls were kept safe indoors and we dogs had to be there too some of the time.

                       

           These are some of the schnauzery things that were on the shop stall. 

                       

Anyway it turned out really hot and sunny after all and most of the peeps and their dogs went outside to enjoy the games.

                       

There were all sizes and colours of schnauzers there - pepper & salt minis and......

All the dogs were getting to know each other while their peeps chatted and we got the chance to meet and greet too .:-) and a good space to rest or watch what was going on in the hall.

Actually it did get so hot the best place was indoors with plenty of treats to keep us going and we did get to enjoy the garden when we got home:

Le Grand Depart

                                  

This year the Tour de France came to Yorkshire and there were lots of fun things to see around the region when the cyclists came to our county. Here are some photos taken by our roving reporter Minhaj who saw the teams as they set off from Leeds on Saturday.

The winner of the whole race gets to wear the yellow jersey - and so did some of the statues in Leeds:

Sadly there were so many thousands of people in Leeds that morning that me and Saoirse were too small to see the cyclists but we enjoyed walking round ( and getting carried) and seeing the sights.

                                                  

     The telephone boxes were painted with the routes through Yorkshire in the colour of the jerseys.

                                                    

                                   We met a policeman dressed as a yellow padlock!!

                                         It was a very exciting day and very yellow BOL

National Microchipping Month

                         

This month in the UK it is National Microchipping Month which is a campaign to try and get all the peeps who have dogs to make sure they are microchipped and, if they are already, to check their details are up to date. Sadly many peeps get their doggy family microchipped and then move house and forget to tell the microchip company which is no good if their dog goes missing after that :-(

                                          

We all have our little information chips with our details and my peeps make sure all the puppies leave here for their new homes with a microchip already for their owners so they know they have been done. From April 2016 it will be the law in the UK that all dogs must be microchipped and their details registered on a national database. Many dogs go missing from their homes every day and they may never find their way back to their family if they don't have a microchip with all their right details to let the rescue peeps or the vets know who they are. 

                                     

This is a map of the UK showing how many dogs are listed as missing in the different areas - over 16,000 altogether :-(

Garden Party Fun

                              

This is young Pip wanting to know what's going on.....well on Sunday our peeps and all of us dogs were invited to a very special Garden Party raising money for COFEPOW ( which is Children of Far East Prisoners of War). Most of the dogs there were affenpinschers from all over Britain but there were all sorts of others too. We were free to roam the garden while the peeps ate the foodables and chatted.

 

                               

Here I am having a good furtle round to check any pee-mail before I headed off to see the foodables and help to clear up any crumbs that might have fallen.

                                

Anyhow as well as the munching there was a fun dog show and we each went in for one of the classes. Pip got 4th place in Best Puppy:

                                 

                                            And then I was chosen as Prettiest Bitch :-)

After the dog classes there was a fancy dress competition and me and Pip stayed to watch as Trilby, Crybbe, Aoife & Saoirse all got their costumes on. Judith had spent a few evenings working on these and they did look rather smart :-)

                                                 

                                Can you guess who they were? Trilby was Cardinal Richelieu.....

                                     

                                                And the affens were the Three Monkey-teers! 

                                     

                                     

                                                   

Of course Saoirse was being a real little monkey and kept taking off her trousers and wanted to wear her hat at a jaunty angle but everyone loved them and they won First Prize! The competition had been strong though:

After the Fancy Dress there was a last line up of all the dogs who had won a class for the judge to pick Best in Show........and guess who won?..... It was me!!!!!

                                    

My peeps were more surprised than I was but very proud and we got a beautiful trophy to take home too.

                                                       

This was such a fun day and all the dogs and peeps said they had enjoyed themselves very much. Judith and Leigh got to meet some Facebook friends for the first time like Babs and Bodsie and their peeps and Cassie and Pippa the affen divas with their peeps......and it didn't rain :-)

                                      

We were all very tired though with all the excitement and Pip fell asleep before we got home.
